Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Scotland
To help promote the campaign this year, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Scotland arranged for me to visit James Dickson & Son in Cockenzie, one of many great small businesses in East Lothian. They epitomise the kind of business that Small Business Saturday is all about.
Dickson’s have been serving local customers since 1921, and there are currently three generations of the family involved. Being so rooted in the community, over generations, and prioritising customer loyalty over many years – these are exactly the kinds of strengths our small businesses can bring to the local economy.
We should do all we can to thank all of our local small firms and shops for the vital contribution they make to the local economy, adding to the local community and boosting diversity on our high streets.
